Three new baseball documentaries I’ve seen recently have one thing in common:<\/p>\n

old guys.<\/p>\n

Old guys playing baseball.<\/p>\n

A long-ass time ago.<\/p>\n

Right up my alley.<\/p>\n

A few weeks ago I reported<\/a> on\u00a0Last Comiskey<\/em>, pet project of one Matt Flesch, just a regular guy who one day thought he could produce and direct a baseball documentary. I aspire.<\/p>\n

Since then I’ve also seeing\u00a0Facing Nolan<\/em>, Netflix-backed puff piece from the Ryan family on strikeout king Lynn Nolan Ryan, and\u00a0Reggie<\/em>, Amazon-backed puff piece on strikeout king Reginald Martinez Jackson. (Struck out a lot but he hit a few dingers too.) “Puff piece” here isn’t even really a knock, just a statement of fact. Heck,\u00a0Last Comiskey<\/em> is a straight-up\u00a0love letter<\/em> to Comiskey Park and I think that one’s the best of the lot.<\/p>\n

For what it’s worth, all three are worth your time.<\/p>\n

Gotta watch\u00a0something<\/em> between episodes of\u00a0Ted Lasso<\/em>, eh?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
