NHL ad salesmen rejoice.<\/p>\n
An Oilers win would mean the first time since 1942 that a team staved off elimination four games in a row to win the Stanley Cup.<\/p>\n
That’s even before TV.<\/p>\n
And it’s been 34 years since the Oilers last hoisted Lord Stanley’s cup. That was five championships in seven years for the Albertans.<\/p>\n
The first of those five was a cool 40 years ago, when the Oilers won the Stanley Cup and the Celtics won the NBA Championship.<\/p>\n
