{"id":4976,"date":"2025-06-18T08:42:44","date_gmt":"2025-06-18T04:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mikeoconnelljr.com\/?p=4976"},"modified":"2025-06-18T07:19:45","modified_gmt":"2025-06-18T03:19:45","slug":"so-much-for-sweet-revenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mikeoconnelljr.com\/?p=4976","title":{"rendered":"So much for sweet revenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some weeks ago I suggested on <a href=\"https:\/\/mikeoconnelljr.com\/?p=4949\">this site<\/a> that the Edmonton Oilers were poised for some sweet, sweet revenge in this year&#8217;s Stanley Cup Finals.<\/p>\n<p>I should have known Canadians are way too polite for such things, and I guess we&#8217;ll have to wait until next year for whatever passes for revenge in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of countries, American teams have now won 31 Stanley Cups in a row, dominating the national sport of Canada like at no other point in history.
